Drag Race UK star A’Whora sent ‘vile’ abuse and death wishes from trolls

RuPaul’s Drag Race UK star A’Whora has slammed trolls for the abuse she has received online calling for her to “kill herself”.
Following a number of other contestants from the show speaking out against online bullies, the Nottinghamshire queen revealed she has also been targeted online.
A’Whora was eliminated in fifth place in last week’s episode, after lip-syncing for her life against Tayce, who she lives with outside the competition.
In a tweet on Sunday, the queen wrote: “I can’t take your comments, I can handle the opinions I never asked for, but don’t be tagging me in your videos of you laughing at me crying and shouting vile things at the screen with me on it calling me from a pig to a dog and ending it on ‘now she should kill herself’.”
She later followed up with another tweet: “I don’t let it bother me, and I won’t let it bother me cos that’s me giving you what you want!
“I have never felt more love and support from the fans as I do now compared to the start of this experience, so I won’t let you ruin this for me! But other people may not be as strong!”
Many Drag Race fans took to Twitter to call A’Whora’s trolls “vile” and “grown adults who should know better”.
A’Whora is not the first queen from this season of Drag Race UK to speak out against trolls online
Sister Sister previously spoke out on Twitter and in a Guardian article about trolls online describing “in graphic detail how they would like to see me die”.
On Twitter, she said: “I won’t lie, the last few days have been very tough. Some of the hate I have had to read about myself has been shocking and incredibly painful. I want to thank everyone who has sent love and support, it means the world to me right now.”
Lawrence Chaney, who is still in the running to be the UK’s next drag superstar, deleted her Twitter account last week following “disgusting” abuse online.
A number of other high profile drag queens have been coming to the defence of this season’s contestants against the abuse they have faced.
Cheryl Hole, who competed in the previous series, tweeted: “The fact that you trolls have made Lawrence Chaney delete her Twitter because of the abuse you’ve given her is disgusting!
“First Sister [Sister], now this. It’s a fun TV show, the world is already negative enough without you trolls making a fun show something negative! DO BETTER!”
