Drag Race UK‘s Bimini Bon Boulash has said she was “blown away” when comedian Kathy Burke slid into her DMs.
The non-binary icon opened up to Metro about the incredible moment they received a message from the Gimme Gimme Gimme star.
When asked if any famous faces had been in touch since she took Drag Race UK by storm, Bimini Bon Boulash joked: “There’s been a few different people. Drake’s in my DMs all the time, I can’t get rid of him. Lil Wayne’s messaging me all the time…
“Nah I’m joking,” she said. “Kathy Burke, she’s the one for me that was like… it blew me away. And then she changed her Twitter name to Kathy Bimini Bon Burkey, which is iconic.”

Bimini Bon Boulash also revealed that she and Cara Delevingne now follow each other on social media after the model reached out to her.

Kathy Burke backed Bimini Bon Boulash to win Drag Race UK back in February before changing her name to reflect her love for the drag icon.
The legendary comedian branded Bimini a “superstar”, adding: “Bimini for the win by the way.”
Bimini replied to Burke’s praise, writing: “KATH BON BURKEY! When I was growing up my mum would call me and my cousin Linda and Tom. I’ve loved everything you’ve done and your Desert Island Discs is one of my faves. Absolute star and angel!! Thank you for the love.”
It quickly became clear that the love went both ways, with Burke replying: “Baby!!!! I’m welling up here. Your mum has done a wonderful job. You are magnificent darling and a creative superstar. I know how to say your name now!”
Bimini Bon Boulash fast became a Drag Race UK favourite when the second season kicked off earlier this year.
In one particularly moving episode, Bimini Bon Boulash and Ginny Lemon had a heart-t0-heart about being non-binary. The pair won praise from fans for their candid discussion.
“Non-binary isn’t a new thing, it’s just a new term,” Bimini said in the episode. “It’s just basically someone that doesn’t feel like they are either masculine or feminine, they kind of float between the two.”
Speaking to PinkNews about the incredible moment, Bimini Bon Boulash said: “I think that’s why the whole thing with me and Ginny really worked so well because there was no arguing or no debating about how people feel. And it allowed people to relate to that.”
She added: “I’m happy to debate and discuss with people. But I’d never want it to come from a place of kind of anger or attack or intimidating, because I feel like we never progress when that happens.”
