Kylie Minogue confirmed as Drag Race Down Under guest judge and all our gay Christmases just came at once

Kylie Minogue is joining Drag Race Down Under as a guest judge, along with her sister, Dannii Minogue.
Kylie said she’s “so excited” to have “finally” been confirmed as a guest on RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under, ending months of speculation she’d be joining RuPaul and Michelle Visage behind the judges’ table.
The pop icon said in a statement: “I’m so excited to finally be a part of RuPaul’s Drag Race for the first series of Down Under.
“It’s such an iconic show and I can’t wait to watch the contestants perform their hearts out to win the title of Down Under’s first Drag Superstar!”
Drag Race fans will get a double dose of Minogue, as Kylie’s sister and fellow LGBT+ icon Dannii Minogue will also make an appearance.
Dannii teased: “I got to have a cheeky Untucked chat with the girls on RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under season one.”
“They had come straight from the runway challenge so it was exciting and tense all at the same time, not knowing who was going to have to lip sync for their life!”
Joining them will be Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi, with more celebrity guest to be announced in due course.
Alongside RuPaul, Michelle Visage and the Minogues, the 10 Australian and Kiwi queens will also have to impress permanent judge, Australian comedian Rhys Nicholson.
The queens competing for the crown are: Anita Wigl’it (NZ), Art Simone (VIC), Coco Jumbo (NSW), Elektra Shock (NZ), Etcetera Etcetera (NSW), JoJo Zaho (NSW), Karen from Finance (VIC), Kita Mean (NZ), Maxi Shield (NSW) and Scarlet Adams (WA).
It was recently announced that RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under will stream on BBC iPlayer for viewers in the UK.
The BBC, which will release episodes just hours after they’re shown in Australia, said: “Squirrel friends of the show can expect iconic high fashion looks, cryptic challenges, werkroom dramas and weekly lip-sync for your life battles featuring death drops galore.
“Viewers can look forward to even more shade and drama than ever before with an extra-large helping of Australasian pop culture and sass!”
The first episode will launch on BBC iPlayer on Sunday, 2 May at 9am.
