Ryan Reynolds is reportedly begging Marvel to make Deadpool openly bisexual

Ryan Reynolds is reportedly begging Marvel executives to make the maverick superhero Deadpool openly bisexual.
While the superhero character is portrayed as pansexual in the Deadpool comics, he has only ever had romantic liaisons with female characters in the two feature films, released in 2016 and 2018.
But Ryan Reynolds is hoping to change that for the third Deadpool film, according to tipster Daniel Richtman.
Richtman said Reynolds “very much wants” to explore the superhero’s sexuality in the third film and he has reportedly asked Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige to “make Deadpool openly bi,” We Got This Covered reports.
This is not the first time the 44-year-old actor has expressed an interest in exploring Deadpool’s sexuality.
Speaking at a Q&A at Comic-Con San Diego in 2018, Reynolds said: “I certainly think that this universe needs to represent and reflect the world in very real ways.”
He added: “The great thing about Deadpool is that we’re allowed to do things that other superhero movies don’t necessarily do.
“It’s something that I’d love to see more of, certainly through Wade [Deadpool’s real name], certainly through this universe because its’ something that we’re building out more.”

Deadpool will join the Marvel Cinematic Universe following Disney’s purchase of Fox, which previously owned the rights to the character. He is widely expected to be the only character from Fox’s X-Men universe to cross over.
If Marvel opted to make Deadpool openly queer, it would mark a dramatic shift in tone for the film studio.
The company has largely shied away from explicit representations of LGBT+ identities in the MCU in the past, which some have speculated is due to the fear of censorship in countries where homosexuality is either illegal or not socially accepted.
However, such fears would likely not be a problem for a Deadpool sequel as the earlier films have already been banned in numerous countries due to violence and sexual content.
Reynolds previously confirmed as much. Following the release of Deadpool 2, he said: “That’s not really a problem for us, because we were banned in China. We were rated ‘f**k you!’ in China.”
He added: “I think [Deadpool’s sexual interest in men] could be played up more. He’s an outsider in every way, shape and form.”
While Marvel chief Kevin Feige has confirmed that a third Deadpool film is in the works, fans will likely have to wait some time before it hits cinema screens.
Writers have reportedly been hired to draft a script for the follow-up, but filming isn’t expected to begin until at least 2022.
