Trixie Mattel, Jazz Jennings and Frankie Grande lead inspirational Taimi Talks line-up
Trixie Mattel, Jazz Jennings, Frankie Grande, Latrice Royale and Jake and Hannah Graf lead an incredible line-up for queer app Taimi’s latest event.
Queer social and dating app Taimi is hosting its second annual Taimi Talks on Sunday (16 May).
The digital event will welcome queer celebrities and influencers to discuss important LGBT+ issues and problems facing the community during COVID-19.
Trixie Mattel will give a musical performance and interview. Her fellow Drag Race star Latrice Royale is also part of the line-up.
Jazz Jennings, trans trailblazer and YouTuber, will deliver a talk with her brother, Sanders, about what it’s like to be trans in America. They will also discuss what it means to be an LGBT+ ally.
Also appearing at Taimi Talks will be Jake and Hannah Graf. The pair will share what it’s like to be a world-famous trans couple and new parents.
Singer and actor Frankie Grande will open up about his personal story on how he overcame addiction, alcoholism and depression. The performer, who is the older brother of Ariana Grande, will talk about the physical, social, mental and financial impact of addiction and his journey to sobriety.
Taimi Talks first launched last year to highlight prominent voices within the LGBT+ community. Guests featured in 2020 included Drag Race legend Alyssa Edwards, queer Muslim historian Blair Imani and activist Ts Madison.
Alex Pasykov, the founder and CEO of Taimi, said in a statement that it was especially important to bring the event back in 2021 to highlight “inspirational stories, provide entertaining content and give people hope”.
Pasykov added it was important to talk about allyship as “many cisgender straight folks can help improve the lives of LGBTQ+ people around the globe”.
“It is important that we focus on how each and every one of us can contribute to a kind, understanding and progressive society,” Pasykov said.
