Lindsey Graham is willing to die for Chick-fil-A and its anti-LGBT+ values

Lindsey Graham has vowed to take up arms to defend sandwich chain Chick-fil-A after he heard some students didn’t want it on their campus.
After spending four years as Donald Trump’s lapdog, the Republican senator has thrown himself behind a new unpopular cause: the fast food restaurant Chick-fil-A.
The infamous restaurant made headlines on Wednesday (14 July) after students at the University of Notre Dame opposed a branch opening on its Indiana campus, citing the company’s well-known donations to anti-LGBT+ causes.
“Over the past two decades, Chick-fil-A has donated significant sums to groups that oppose LGBTQ+ rights,” wrote students Tilly Keeven-Glascock and Joey Jegier in a letter published in The Observer, a Notre Dame student newspaper.
“In addition, Chick-fil-A CEO Dan Cathy, who boasts a net worth of over $8 billion, pours his personal funds into anti-LGBTQ+ causes. To this day, Cathy continues to donate to the National Christian Charitable Foundation (NCF). In a highly un-Christian manner, the NCF funds hate groups and legal cases aimed at stripping queer people of their rights.
“Even though Chick-fil-A has halted the worst of its donations, patronising Chick-fil-A means lining Cathy’s pockets.”
They encouraged readers to sign their open letter opposing Chick-fil-A, which is among several restaurants Notre Dame campus is considering.
Lindsey Graham ‘will go to war’ for Chick-fil-A
After learning of an issue that involved him in no way at all Lindsey Graham decided this was the hill he wanted to die on, as he made clear in a flurry of tweets defending the controversial chicken chain.
“I have always thought Notre Dame was one of the greatest universities in America, if not the world,” he said.
“It’s disappointing to hear some ND students and faculty want to ban Chick-fil-A from doing business on campus because they disagree with the values held by the Chick-fil-A founders. What a dangerous precedent to set.
“I want everyone in South Carolina and across America to know I have Chick fil-A’s back,” he declared. “I hope we don’t have to, but I will go to war for the principles Chick fil-A stands for.
“Great food. Great service. Great values. God bless Chick fil-A!”
Lindsey Graham’s rousing battle cry probably sounded a lot better in his head – but either way it didn’t elicit the reaction he’d hoped for.
“Lindsey Graham vows to ‘go to war’ for Chick fil-A… He wouldn’t lift a finger to stop a violent insurrection, but he could kill for a chicken sandwich,” one critic noted as the senator’s name began trending on Twitter.

Chick-fil-A has denied allegations of prejudice, saying: “We want to be clear that Chick-fil-A does not have a political or social agenda, and we welcome everyone in our restaurants.” Sure, Jan.
