Elliot Page gave us trans joy as he posted a confident, shirtless photo of himself on Instagram.

Oh good my new phone works” the 34-year-old actor jokingly captioned the photo, as his six-pack selfie sent the internet into a frenzy.

In less than 24 hours, Page’s post received over 1.6 million likes on Instagram, with fans gushing over his appearance and his radiant energy.

Let’s all pause for a moment and thank the world for this exquisite human” one fan wrote on Twitter. Another simply called him an “icon”.

Elliot Page’s shirtless selfie was much more than just a thirst-trap: it was also a celebration of trans joy.

Last December, the Umbrella Academy star bravely came out as trans on Instagram while recovering from gender-affirming top surgery.

In a subsequent interview with Time magazine he revealed that top surgery “completely transformed my life”, and was “not only life-changing but lifesaving”.

After his latest selfie, many commented on how happy they were to see Page showing off his trans pride.

Boy does it work! Nothing hotter than gender euphoria ?”, one fan wrote on Instagram. Another praised the actor, writing: “You are embodying your confidence and I love it!”.

Since coming out, Elliot Page has highlighted the importance of using his platform to advocate for trans rights.

In April, he spoke out against the “cruel and exhausting” anti-trans bills being introduced across the US, and encouraged his fans to take action to protect trans rights.

More recently, the actor supported trans Netflix staff who staged a walk-out over the streamer’s decision to air a “transphobic” Dave Chapelle comedy special.

“I stand with the trans, non-binary and BIPOC employees at Netflix fighting for more and better trans stories and a more inclusive workplace”, he wrote.

Page has also won the affection of the internet time and again with his thirst-inspiring selfies and effortless style.

Earlier this year, at the 2021 Met Gala, he wore a green carnation on his lapel in an apparent homage to gay icon Oscar Wilde, and many LGBT+ fans were quick to voice their delight.
