Evan Rachel Wood claims Marilyn Manson threatened ‘to f**k’ her 8-year-old son
Evan Rachel Wood has claimed her allegedly abusive ex-boyfriend Marilyn Manson threatened “to f**k” her eight-year-old son.
The Westworld actor, 34, a longtime advocate for survivors of sexual assault, accused Manson in February of domestic abuse, rape and assault.
Court documents filed in April obtained by The Daily Mail claim Manson, the controversial rock singer known off-stage as Brian Warner, threatened the families of women who accused him of sexual assault and trafficking.
In a declaration to the court in March, Wood said the 52-year-old took aim at her son, Jack. “I took his threat very seriously, then and now,” she said.
His threat forced Wood to install bulletproof glass windows, a steel door and a security fence around her Los Angeles, California, home.
“I am looking into attack dogs and security guards at night,” she told the judge, adding she has since out of fear moved to Nashville, Tennessee.
Evan Rachel Wood ‘suffered severe trauma at Marilyn Manson’s hands’, says court files
Evan Rachel Wood made the allegations against her former partner in a court custody battle with her ex-boyfriend Jamie Bell.
She described Manson, referred to in the papers as “the alleged offender”, as a man who will almost certainly seek “retribution” against her. She dated him from 2006 to 2010.
“I only recently learned that [Manson] was involved in human trafficking and the sexual exploitation of minors on a large scale,” she told the court, having gone public with her accusations against Manson the month before.
“These new developments, combined with the pending criminal investigation, lead me to be very concerned about our child’s safety when in Los Angeles.”
She added: “I am extremely afraid of the alleged offender.
“I have suffered severe, traumatic physical and emotional injury at his hands, and I am afraid he will seek retribution against me for testifying by harming me, our son, and members of my family.
“In my experience, the alleged offender is very retaliatory and has always made it clear that he will ruin my life.”
At least 15 women have accused Manson of misconduct, with one of the alleged victims claiming that she recorded the musician saying he had taken photographs of her children and obtained their social security numbers.
Bell, 35, divorced from Wood in 2014. He filed a motion in response to her declaration, alleging Wood’s claims “[defy] credibility”.
“I frankly do not understand what is happening,” he said.
“Either Evan’s claims that she is receiving ‘death threats’ are true and Jack is not safe in her care, or they are not true and she is withholding our son from me for other reasons of her own invention.”
In his stunning downfall, Manson has been dropped by his record label and agents and cut off from various television guest roles.
After Wood went public with her story in an explosive Instagram post, it emboldened many other women to do the same. Including actor Esmé Bianco, who filed a lawsuit against him in April, and queer indie-rock musician Phoebe Bridgers.
Actor Charlyne Yi had also accused Manson of harassment in since-deleted tweets in 2018.
“The name of my abuser is Brian Warner, also known to the world as Marilyn Manson,” Wood wrote in an Instagram post.
“He started grooming me when I was a teenager and horrifically abused me for years. I was brainwashed and manipulated into submission. I am done living in fear of retaliation, slander, or blackmail.”
Manson has broadly denied the allegations. “Obviously, my art and my life have long been magnets for controversy, but these recent claims about me are horrible distortions of reality,” he wrote on Instagram.
“My intimate relationships have always been entirely consensual with like-minded partners. Regardless of how – and why – others are now choosing to misrepresent the past, that is the truth.”
