Andrew Garfield has sent fans into a frenzy after he pledged to compete on Strictly Come Dancing if he wins an Oscar.
Appearing on the Graham Norton Show on Friday (18 February) alongside Strictly professional Johannes Radebe, the actor revealed that he would “love” to do the British dance competition, pledging that he would compete if he wins the Academy Award for best actor.
“It’s on the bucket list,” he added.
Garfield, who is nominated for his role of Jonathan Larson in tick, tick… BOOM!, told Radebe on the show: “If I win the Oscar, then I’ll come and do it.”

Fans of Garfield quickly leapt on the news, with one Twitter user commenting: “YOU KNOW WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO ACADEMY”.
Graham Norton himself said he would “rig the Oscars” in order to see the actor perform on Strictly.

Another Twitter user said they would “start a petition to see him cha cha if I have to”.

Radebe, with who Andrew Garfield vowed to perform Strictly with, made history this year alongside former Great British Bake Off winner John Whaite as the first all-male pairing on the dance competition.
Whaite and Radebe were the programme’s second same-sex couple, following in the footsteps of Nicola Adams and Katya Jones.
Ahead of reaching the grand final, Whaite told RadioTimes that he and Radebe’s appearance on Strictly had received “really incredible” support from the public.
He described how several people had messaged him “saying things like their kids can grow up in a world where two men or two women can dance together is mega.”
“Older members of the LGBTQ+ community have been so grateful that they’ve paved the way for this to happen,” he added. “Kids can now grow up without being ashamed.”
Garfield fans will hear the moment of truth when the Academy Awards 2022 airs on 28 March.
