Couple files for restraining order against The Flash actor Ezra Miller after arrest in Hawaii
A couple has requested a temporary restraining order against Ezra Miller after the Justice League star was arrested in Hawaii.
Miller was arrested on Monday (28 March) for disorderly conduct and harassment after an incident that took place over the weekend at a bar in Hilo, a town on the island of Hawaii. Police said the 29-year-old actor had been released after paying their bail.
But it seems like Miller may be in more legal trouble as two residents in Hilo have filed for a temporary restraining order against the actor, claiming that Miller harassed and threatened them.
The complaint, which was obtained by People, alleged that the star of The Flash “burst into the bedroom of the petitioner(s) and threatened” the alleged male victim “saying ‘I will bury you and your s**t wife’” on Monday.
According to Hawaii News Now, Miller had been staying with the husband and wife, and they reportedly paid the $500 to bail the actor out of jail earlier this week.
The couple who filed the restraining order allegedly let Miller stay with them at a hostel, the Associated Press reported.
Terry Prekaski, the owner of the hostel, said she didn’t know who Miller was until other guests pointed out their identity. She described Miller as “friendly”, made “people feel good”, “not a snob” and was willing to take “pictures with people”.
The couple’s complaint claimed that Miller stole some of their personal belongings including a wallet, social security card, driver’s license, passport and bank cards.
The document added that the couple was concerned as Miller is “famous and wealthy” so their “access to weapons” is “much easier; as well as sending associates to harass the petitioner”.
The couple requested for the court to grant the order to stop Miller’s alleged “wrongful conduct”. Otherwise, the couple feared they “will suffer substantial emotional distress”.
New details have also emerged about Ezra Miller’s arrest on Monday as well as their time in Hawaii.
The actor was taken into custody after allegedly “yelling obscenities”, grabbing a microphone from a “23-year-old woman singing karaoke” and lunging at a “32-year-old man playing darts” at the Hilo bar.
Hawaii Police assistant chief Kenneth Quiocho told the Associated Press that Miller allegedly took issue with people singing the Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper hit “Shallow”. Quiocho said the song is very popular with locals at the Hilo bar, and the song upset Miller.
The police officer added that there have been at least 10 calls to authorities since 7 March concerning Miller. Quiocho said these included filming people at a gas station, refusing to leave a sidewalk area near a restaurant and arguing with people.
PinkNews has contacted Ezra Miller’s representatives for comment.
