Jonathan Bailey teases Bridgerton return in season three as fans burn for the viscount
Bridgerton‘s Jonathan Bailey has revealed his hopes for his character Anthony Bridgerton to once again make viewers swoon in the third season of the hit series.
Days after the viscount’s love story with Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley) dropped on Netflix, fans are already begging for more of the C**k star on their screens.
Thankfully, seasons three and four of the Regency drama have already been green-lit by the streaming service and the leading couple have teased what he hopes to see next for their characters.
Speaking to Digital Spy, Ashley stated: “If I were to return for season three, I would love to continue Kate and Anthony’s love story and see them kind of play post-marriage and kind of enjoy that honeymoon romance that they deserve and a lot more horse riding”.
“And Kate is now the viscountess and once you’re married into the Bridgerton family, you’re married in,” Bailey added.
The Bridgerton series is based on the books by Julia Quinn, with each one focusing on a different family member – so even if Kate and Anthony’s journey continues in the next series it wouldn’t form the central storyline.
However, viewers will hope future scenes might involve the couple getting up close and personal a bit more after the duo featured in a surprisingly low number of sex scenes together.
Opening up about how they brought the raunchy scenes to life, the 33-year-old actor previously told Radio Times magazine that sex and dancing are at “the heart of the show”.

Bailey said that he learned “new tricks to the trade” from the programme’s intimacy coordinator.
“It’s amazing how that whole industry has just come on, even in a year,” he said. “There are new tricks to the trade – little cushions – and it’s amazing what you can do with a half-inflated netball.”
“Well, if there are two people doing a sex scene, the rule is they must have three barriers separating them and there are certain acts where a half-inflated netball can allow for movement without having to connect physically,” Bailey added. “It’s pretty silly really and we have some hilarious moments, but it makes it less awkward.”
Bridgerton season two is available to stream on Netflix.
