Ezra Miller arrested for second time in weeks after allegedly assaulting woman with chair

Ezra Miller is facing an assault charge in Hawaii after allegedly throwing a chair that hit a woman.
The 29-year-old actor was arrested for a second time on Hawaii’s Big Island in the early hours of Tuesday (19 April). It comes three weeks after they were arrested for disorderly conduct and harassment following an incident in a karaoke bar.
Ezra Miller is now facing a second-degree assault charge after becoming “irate” when asked to leave a gathering at a private residence in Pāhoa, said the Hawai’i Police Department.
Investigators said the Fantastic Beasts star lobbed a chair that struck a 26-year-old woman on the forehead, causing a half-inch cut. The woman refused treatment for her injury.
Miller was later tracked down and arrested at a traffic stop at the intersection of Highway 130 and Kukula Street in Kea’au. They were released “pending further investigation” at 4:30am.
In Hawaii, assault in the second degree carries a jail sentence of up to five years.

Ezra Miller was arrested in Hawaii last month after becoming “disorderly” in a karaoke bar.
They reportedly became “aggravated” when patrons broke into a rendition of Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s ballad “Shallow“.
Miller reportedly lobbed obscenities and grabbed a microphone from a 23-year-old woman before lunging at a 32-year-old playing darts.
They were arrested for harassment and disorderly conduct on 28 March and freed on $500 bail, the police said.
Hours later, Miller allegedly burst into the bedroom of two people, threatened to “bury” them and stole a passport and a wallet. Police chaperoned Miller off the Hilo residence, Quiocho said.
At the time, the couple claimed that Miller had been staying with them at a hostel – they later paid to bail them out of jail.
The couple lodged a petition the following day asking for a temporary restraining order against Miller. While the court granted this, the couple later dropped the petition altogether.
Arraignments for the first arrest and a separate traffic arrest were scheduled for Tuesday, with Miller’s attorneys requesting that the hearing be postponed given the actor’s “time-sensitive work obligations in California and/or New York”, The Guardian reported.
On 30 March, Hawaii Police assistant chief Kenneth Quiocho told the Associated Press that Miller had been involved in 10 minor incidents reported to police in Hilo, including complaints of them filming people at a service station, refusing to leave the pavement area of a restaurant and getting into heated arguments.
