Britney Spears and fiancé Sam Asghari announce they’ve lost ‘miracle baby early in the pregnancy’
Britney Spears and her fiancé Sam Asghari have announced with “deepest sadness” that they’ve suffered a miscarriage.
The singer shared the news in an Instagram post on Saturday (14 May) just weeks after she first revealed that she was pregnant.
“It is with our deepest sadness we have to announce that we have lost our miracle baby early in the pregnancy,” a social media post shared by Britney Spears said.
“This is a devastating time for any parent. Perhaps we should have waited to announce until we were further along, however were were overly excited to share the good news.
“Our love for each other is our strength. We will continue trying to expand our beautiful family.”
Spears continued: “We are grateful for all of your support. We kindly ask for privacy during this difficult moment.”
Fans sent ‘love and prayers’ to Britney Spears and Sam Asghari

“So sorry to hear this news, much love and prayers,” one fan wrote.
“Sending love your way,” another commented.
Spears’ fiancé Sam Asghari commented: “We will have a miracle soon.”
The news comes just four weeks after the singer first revealed that she was pregnant in an Instagram post.
Writing on Instagram at the time, Spears – who is already a mother to two children – said: “I lost so much weight to go on my Maui trip only to gain it back.
“I thought, ‘Geez, what happened to my stomach?’ My husband said, ‘No, you’re food pregnant silly!’ So I got a pregnancy test… and uhhhhh well… I am having a baby. Four days later I got a little more food pregnant. It’s growing! If tow are in there… I might just lose it.”
Days later, the singer shared a black and white picture of herself pregnant with her eldest son, Sean Preston, and admitted that she was “scared to have a baby in this world”.
In the emotional Instagram post, Spears opened up about her fears about bringing a child into the world just months after her controversial conservatorship – which saw her father Jamie Spears exercise significant control over her life and finances for years – was terminated by the courts.
In September 2021, Spears announced that she was engaged to Sam Asghari, her boyfriend of several years.
That momentous occasion came just months after the singer spoke out against her conservatorship for the first time, sending shockwaves across the world.
Later that year, her conservatorship was finally terminated by a Los Angeles court.
