Dua Lipa fans shut down hate preacher ranting about ‘gay sin’ and ‘dancing like w****s’

An anti-gay preacher told Dua Lipa fans that “homosexuality and lesbianism is a sin”. He didn’t get the response he was looking for.

Fan were queueing outside of Leeds’ First Direct Arena for Dua Lipa’s Future Nostalgia Tour on 18 April when a man began shouting hate at them.

In recently shared footage, the man could be heard asking fans if they celebrated sin, to which the crowd erupted in cheers.

The preacher continued: “How many of you think it’s good to dance like a whore?” The answer, judging by the cheers that come from the crowd, is a lot.

“How many think that it’s good to have sex outside of marriage?” he continued. “How many of you think it’s OK to dress in provocative clothing?” Again, the crown roared triumphantly.

The hate preacher, clearly disappointed, concluded: “We’re in serious trouble with God. You’re in serious trouble with God. You call evil good and good evil.”

TikTok users revelled in the preacher’s failed speech, with one saying: “Oh he really thought he was doing something”. Another said: “Best pre show hype man I’ve seen so far, nice work sir.”

Dua Lipa embarked on the Future Nostalgia Tour in February, performing some of her biggest hits to sold-out arenas across the world.

The pop icon is an LGBTQ+ ally, previously taking a stand for the community by condemning rapper and former collaborator DaBaby for his shocking homophobic comments in 2021.

Dua confirmed that she stands “100 per cent with the LGBTQ community”, adding that she was “horrified” by DaBaby’s stigmatising and offensive comments about gay people and those living with HIV.

“I really don’t recognise this as the person I worked with,” she said. “I know my fans know where my heart lies and that I stand 100 per cent with the LGBTQ community.

“We need to come together to fight the stigma and ignorance around HIV/AIDS.”

She had collaborated with DaBaby on her “Levitating” remix.

The Future Nostalgia Tour will run until November, when Dua will perform a final show in Perth, Australia.
