Gia Gunn sparks furious backlash from Drag Race queens after reading pretty much every one of them

Gia Gunn on Drag Race All Stars

RuPaul’s Drag Race star Gia Gunn has once again done what she does best – whip up controversy and drama.

Gunn, who competed in the show’s sixth season, said she saw zero glamour at RuPaul’s DragCon LA 2022, which took place from 13 May to 15 May.

The event featured more queens than ever before, with more or less every single competitor from seasons 12, 13 and 14 and the eight winners of the upcoming All-Stars 7 all attending.

But Gia was not impressed. “I saw zero beauty at this year’s DragCon,” she tweeted, “what happened to the glamour?”

“On the other hand… I think I was giving? Rate my look 1-10 if you have the nerve!” she added, sharing photos of her wearing a sickening slitted black dress.

Many of Gia Gunn’s fellow Drag Race queens were unimpressed by the shade.

“Now, I usually don’t say anything especially when it comes to messy, foolish and clearly incorrect social media post,” wrote Heidi N Closet, “but this time Ms [Gia Gunn] I feel like this is a step too far.

“As sisters, we should build each other up, not tear each other down. Until you learn, take a seat.”

Farrah Moan said: “I know somebody that looks like the human embodiment of the Scream mask didn’t just come up everybody’s DragCon looks lol.”

Gunn hit back: “I know this girl/boy whatever you are who needs drama to stay relevant is as inflamed as the Pillsbury Doughboy and shames sex workers is not trying to come for it.”

Canada’s Drag Race icon Oceane Aqua-Black said she was “hurt” by Gunn’s remark.

“And I saw that with respect towards you without attacking you,” Aqua-Black said. “I put a lot of effort in my drag for my first DragCon like many people. I even waved at you and you passed by me and ignored me totally.”

Other queens said they shouldn’t expect any less from Gia Gunn, dubbing her a “comedy queen” as they traded shade.

While reactions from Drag Race queens were mixed, fans couldn’t help but joke Gunn is the “villain of the franchise we all deserve“.

Gunn then doubled down on her take, tweeting: “I’m an icon, sweets, no need to stand in the barn stall waiting to get the life sucked out of me for pennies.

“I’ve learned conserving your energy is far more valuable than fame or any dollar amount. I give credit to all the queens who were visible this weekend! Enough said.”
