Jonathan Bailey kept his thong as a souvenir of ‘traumatising’ Bridgerton scene
Jonathan Bailey, AKA the bane of all our existences, has revealed that he kept his modesty thong from the Bridgerton set after shooting a “traumatising” scene.
The “traumatising” scene in question was filmed in a bathtub with a camera positioned directly between his legs.
In an interview with Los Angeles Times Jonathan Bailey said: “It was almost like a water birth. And I remember afterwards, I was so appalled at myself over the day that we had experienced and so confused, because you can’t really explain it to anyone.”
Bailey met up with a few friends after the Bridgerton shoot in a pub and when he got up to go to the bathroom, he felt chafing.
“I ran so quickly from set that I hadn’t even taken off my little pouch. I still have it to this day.” And what a memento to have.
In another interview with Radio Times, Bailey spoke about what it was like working with an intimacy coordinator and how an inflated netball came into the equation.
He said: “It’s amazing what you can do with a half-inflated netball.”
“If there are two people doing a sex scene, the rule is they must have three barriers separating them and there are certain acts where a half-inflated netball can allow for movement without having to connect physically.
“It’s pretty silly really and we have some hilarious moments, but it makes it less awkward.”
Bailey and Ashley Simone, who plays Bailey’s love interest on Bridgerton, have both signed on for season three of the hit Netflix show. Audiences will be able to see what marriage is like for them after their steamy romance in season two.
Season three will pivot however and focus on Penelope Featherington, aka Lady Whistledown, and Colin Bridgerton’s love story.
