Britney Spears and Elton John drop new Hold Me Closer video and fans are in love

Britney Spears and Elton John have released the music video for the Joel Corry remix of “Hold Me Closer”.
Britney and Elton are noticeably absent from the video, but their presence certainly isn’t as six dancers clad in some of their most notable outfits twirl the house down alongside DJ Joel Corry.
Alongside nods to career-defining costumes, the music video features choreography throwbacks to (mainly Britney’s) long legacy of leaving it all on the dance floor.
The video pays homage to Britney’s legendary “Oops… I Did It Again!” latex catsuit, her “…Baby One More Time” schoolgirl outfit, and a tour outfit from 1999 featuring a shiny hot-pink top with matching kneepads.
Elton’s outfits are instantly recognisable as the green suit he wore when he received his star on the Walk of Fame in 1975, the classic red suit and white silk shirt and – of course – the classic white feathered jacket from his 1973 Hollywood Bowl performance.
The performers start in a dressing room and move to performing around Corry as he DJs the track.
In the comments, users have showered their praise on the video, which is directed by Rebekah Creative and produced by Greatcoat Films.

“Hold Me Closer” is a remake of Elton John’s 1972 hit “Tiny Dancer”. It is the first song released by Britney Spears since the termination of her conservatorship, and her first new music in six years. It also features nods to John’s hits “The One” and “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart”.

Joel Corry’s euphoric reimagining of the track is its first official remix.
The original release debuted at number six on the Billboard Hot 100 upon release and made number three in the UK chart.
The music video for the original song (not the Joel Corry remix) featured same-sex couples dancing in various locations across Mexico.
