Anti-LGBT Republican Ted Cruz wants to ‘end political correctness’ following Orlando attacks
Senator Ted Cruz has released a statement blasting Democrats for the Orlando attacks.
In the statement, Cruz – one of the most notoriously anti-LGBT Republican politicians – blames ISIS for the attacks and criticised the Democrat party for its stance on immigration and war.
“Our nation is at war” wrote Cruz.
The previous Republican Presidential hopeful released a statement which invited Democrats to stand up against the ‘vicious ideology’ that has targeted fellow Americans.
The Senator placed importance of using the words ‘radical Islamic terrorism’ – something he blamed democrats including Obama and Clinton of not doing enough.
,“The next few days will be sadly predictable. Democrats will try to use this attack to change the subject. As a matter of rigid ideology, far too many Democrats – from Barack Obama to Hillary Clinton – will refuse to utter the words ‘radical Islamic terrorism.’ ”
Cruz urged whoever becomes the new president to unleash the full force and fury of the American military to “utterly destroy ISIS and its affiliates.”
He undermined the move for stricter gun laws, promoting American citizens rights to bear arms.
“Democrats will say the incident was isolated and had nothing to do with the vicious Islamist theology that is daily waging war on us across the globe. And they will try to exploit this terror attack to undermine the Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms of law-abiding Americans.”
The American politician encouraged the two rival parties to come together to tackle radical terrorism.
“Enough is enough. What we need is for every American – Democrat and Republican – to come together, abandon political correctness, and unite in defeating radical Islamic terrorism.”
Cruz said that ISIS and the theocracy in Iran “regularly murder homosexuals.”
“This is wrong, it is evil, and we must all stand against it,” he said. “Nobody has a right to murder someone who doesn’t share their faith or sexual orientation.”
“Today, all of America stands in solidarity with the people of Orlando.” he added.
His statement comes after the Orlando shootings which killed 49 people and injured 53 on Sunday morning.
